Hi there,
I took my K2000 out of its case after about two months I didn't use it, and when I had to plug the L/R connections, I found out that, at first glance, L was somewhat reduced in intensity or totally absent.
(Note: K2000 has these output jacks: [PHONES][L/mono][R][A L][A R][B L][B R])
I tried to plug my headphones into the PHONES jack, and as a matter of fact, the signal was almost totally on R. I plugged them into each and every output, and they all worked - L too. I even checked all the pan settings and they are all on 64 (center). Right now, I don't know what to do. Is the output faulty? How could I fix my synthesizer?
Any input is appreciated!

Maybe you can post this also on Sonikmatter:

There are some Kurzweil engineers on that Forum as well.

Good luck!

I did, and it was L+R, so the problem is not there.
Had a full diagnostics test, there is a MIDI UART issue (but I don't think that's the problem at all), but nothing else. I guess there's some problem in the jack outputs, and I'd better resign and try to get it fixed by experts.
Thanks for the replies, anyway. Keep replying!

I had a similar problem with my D-50 about 10 years ago.
It turned out to be a cracked solder joined on the main board at the output connection. I fixed it with a buddy of mine by re-soldering the output connections. You may want to take a look at the solder joints.
Best of luck,
Chris

the midi uart is actually a loopback test. you have to run a midi cable from the out back to the in, and if it receives everything it sends then it knows that in and out both work. the book doesn't mention this anywhere that I can find, but I found it on some obscure website once.
