The Piano Expansion is really cool it's a big difference to the Tritons internal Pianos! You won't be disappointed! :D

The Vintage expansion is not too good in my opinion. Too much sounds for modern Dance. If you want a good Vintage Soundset, I could send it to you.

If you are into grooves, the Future Loop Construction Kit could be of interest. It's really fun!

The PCM08 is a great board. Spec wise, it's a dual layer, stereo sampled piano (4 samples, MF and FF) based off of a Bosendorfer grand. I've used it in most of my tracks and I've been able to fool some people into thinking that it's a real piano by altering its tuning (by default it is set up to perfect Equal Temperament).

The vintage archives is a good source for classic synth waves and sounds. Definintely a good buy if you're looking for that sort of thing.

Is there a sample available? You know what occures? Very questions are asked after the order is placed. what if our members give a bad advice? LOL

Forgive my ignorance, I'm a bass player primarily, but what did you alter it's tuning to, and is that fairly standard/popular?

I don't have my Karma right in front of me at the moment and I can't remember the exact specifics, but I have my favorite piano program set to 'Stretch', which is typically done to pianos for purely solo performances. But basically, the lower notes on the piano are tuned slightly flat, and the extreme upper end of the piano is tuned around 30 cents sharp.

Combined with the Piano Body Insert Effect, this can cause overtones in the lower-pitched notes to more closely match the fundamental frequencies of higher-pitched notes, and can improve the overall impression of harmony. Obviously you would not want to do this in a mixed, band, or orchestral setting, or else everything would need to be tuned to the piano. I find that it gives sampled pianos a touch more of realism.

I don't have a Karma, or indeed a Korg, but for solo piano work my favourite tuning is Werkmeister, although Kirnberger also works well. I haven't actually tried these in a piece of music with other instruments yet, though, I just like the feel of them when I'm sat playing the piano (the default E-MU PK-6 Grand Piano sounds quite lame tuned to Equal Temperament). There are some very weird tunings available though, like 19-tone (splits the octave over 19 keys) and Gamelan, which I'm sure have their uses somewhere, although I'm yet to find it :)
