Try to use saw waves...with a flanger and a dist effect on the middle-low freq...
the problem on the Le, is the number of effects slots... ( i have a Karma)
A tip? Start to do your lead using a square wave or a detuned one... you will obtain a really normal lead-sound but it's good for practice.

yeah i have a triton rack, and i find it quite hard to make sounds. The fact that it doesn't make things any easier by making them harder than they have to be doesn't help any..... but yeah any good tips on leads people have created etc. would but a great help for me too!!

these general tips might help you for getting a good lead sound: use two osciallators then slightly pan them each in opposite direction and detune them slightly so they beat against each other. if you can adjust the start delay time of them delay one slightly but make sure that you do not overdo it. also if you want a brighter sound go with saw waves over square waves. and turn the filter cutoff frequency up high or keep the cutoff frequency low and turn up the amount of the filter envelope so that the envelope generator opens up the filter wide. if you want a really fat sound you can run all this through a chorus and then a delay. a flanger like another poster suggested will help to get a metallic sound which should sound right at home in a metal band. hope this was helpful to ya.
