I have question about kurzweil 2600XS keys. are they like real
piano (or close at least  ) or are they like kurzweil PC88:s keys
(i didn't like PC88 when i played it)

If your wondering how a K2600XS action stacks up to acoustic pianos in terms of having a nice piano type action, this might help. I have a K2500XS and the action is pretty good. If I play on my cheesy upright piano for a while & then switch, it's like night & day. The Kurzweill has much better action. I play on a fairly nice grand when I practice with the big band at the college and it feels considerably different than my K2500XS. Eventhough the keyboards are "fully-weighted", it's still not quite the same. Some of the console type keyboards make more of effort to weight their keys. Some of them may even actually have hammers? If you can, you should go to a music store & try it out. Even in acoustic pianos, the action between pianos varies greatly. I'm sure the K2600XS has at least as good & probably better action than the K2500XS.

If it's important to you, you should definately try before you buy, John.

The action on the Kurz, in my opinion, is awful. When I was trying a 2600X at SamAsh a few months ago, I thought I was playing a semi-weighted board, the action was so static. But I won't recommend the board whose action I prefer, as I've been enough of a Yamaha advertising whore so far :)

I kind of agree with Sol. I don't know if it's becuase the keys are like a hollow plastic key, but the full-weighted keys of my kurz don't feel "fully" weighted. However, I still like the action. Maybe their trying to keep from going over the 100lb barrier

Sol, how do you like the feel of your Motif?

I prefer the balanced-hammer action of my ES to my Kurz.

Fine, I'll be a whore just a little bit longer.

The Motif has the best action... EVER. It feels exactly like a real, Yamaha upright piano. Grands are always a little stiffer than uprights, so... but yeah. The Motif's action is beautiful. Roland boasts the best action on their serious of stand up electric pieces of crap. Nope, horrible action. Feels like I'm playing a 61 key casio. Give me my Motif, or give me an acoustic :)

It only makes sense since its lineage can be traced back to
Yamaha's own line of acoustic pianos.

I can't say enough about my Motif. I'm veeeerrrry happy with it.
