Hi there,

I was wondering if it's possible to send a .mid file to a cell phone and use it as a ringtone?
I'd like to use some midi files from jr.com on my phone.

Some mobiles allow importing midi files, but all I have seen need a special cable to transmit data from a computer. The cable isn't generally included when you buy the phone and usually costs way too much, specially if you are gonna use it only to transfer a ringtone.

I don't know if it is possible to do it via sms or so, it should be, but you'd need to have the midi in a mobile previously, and then send it to other.

I tried to send it by Email to my phone and it worked.

Thanx,

That made me think something... that in the next few years the cellphones may sound as good as sound modules... a cellphone MIDI interface wouldn't do any bad.

Depends on what cell phone provider you have. If you have sprint I can help you out.

Go to the focus uploader, pretty self explainatory. I have the Ragtime solo as my ringer. :-D
