Standard common sense rules apply - don't vote unless you have the time to download and listen to all tracks - they have been encoded at 64kbps for non-broadband downloading convienience. Some mp3s that are hosted on geocities or angelfire require a 'right-click and save as' in order to work. Voting will be closed on the 20th. As before, the top 3 will be sent to Jordan for review.
Here are the direct links to each entry for everyone's convienience. ;)

Hey Iceman,
Thank you for your feedback!
This is very cool because people who get most likely no vote (like me) can see how their jams were.
One question: Wich scale did you use for your rating? 1 (bad) to 1000 (good)? ;)
Iceman

The scale I used is from 1 to 10, like the Italian school way, where 6 is quite good. Each point has 4 quarters, in this way, for instance: 6, 6+, 6 1/2, 6/7, 7, I repeat, that's only my opinion.

No, I quitted a long time ago, I'm sorry, now I'm only a big buyer and listener.. But, as I stated before, that's only my opinion; I didn't intend to offend anyone, but if I did, I can explain my reasons to the respective players, in private.
Bye to all

Hi guys! , I loved all the jams, so I am going to give a personal opinion to each one :) . I would have joined the contest, but , dam Broken finger :( . I will next time , for sure.
Enigma: I liked it very much, very bluesy , I missed some slow phrases :D , I mean , In some parts you start slow , but your way of adding tension is mostly speed, you could use other resources too. :)
Anyway , great, very secure
Psawnik: Liked it , jazzy style . mixed with a little bluesy touch . You should try to add rythm variations some times, like going in 3ds ( dont know how to say in English) , Any way , jazz improvization is very hard, what mods are you using? :D
Liked it :)
Sead: piano parts are cool , I think that the lead when you enter soloing , needs to have more sence, the technique is pretty good, :)
Timo: Interesting hammond, liked it, I see some insecurity into it. you should practice more with a click , thought... When you enter with the lead, its cool , slow , has a sence. Any way , try the click thing , it should help a lot.
ringwraith: Creative , the use of saxo , I liked the way that you made phrases with saxo, with the organ too :D . Has a good sense, tight jam :)
Spaceho: I loved it , I mean , your patch is cool, very creative, I think that theres a feeling there, any way , what about adding more tension in some phrases , (speed? mods? chromatism? :) )
OrpheusTheBard: you made some exellent figures in your jam track, they require lots of experience... But I wasnt touched by yours... I think there is an exess of notes... and speed, try to make each note to say something, and that "something" to be perceptible.. :) , just a thought
Lyngs: The piano part was cool , that chord modulation that you made is cool too :) , (I think) , its not conventional , so I liked it.. the keyboard solo part is cool , but I think you can get a better sound :)
kapellmeister : I liked It a lot :D , I think it needs a little bit of security, but you make some exellent jazzy figures ( I would love to learn how to do it, I was, but I broke my finger, so In 1 more week I will be on training again) Exellent job
Quilli: I liked it a lot , you have a strong sense of improvisation :) congrats, your lead is like a DX7 johanson lead ... i think that my only sugestion would be to create your own sound. :D , very cool guitars too
Vlakey: I loved your organ solo , its great, you have an awesome improvising style, but I think that in keyboard solo ( not organ ) you can transmit much more feeling. And I am pretty sure.
Sorry for the long post. :)
Congrats to all of you again!

I am kind of a jazzpianist, so I was thinking "out" when doing the chord modulation-thing (playing "in", then playing a halfstep above the tonality, then "in" again).
I was in a hurry when recording the solo, so I just picked out some random lead preset patch for the synth solo (JR's lead on a K2500). Perhaps it wasn't perfectly appropriate...
Two thumbs up for you taking the time to write a small review of every solo!

MoonDark, thanks for the comments :) Listening to all the others, I'm quite aware I was way out of my league, I don't have the technique to compete with most of the people here, but coming from a blues guitar background, I felt that maybe I had a bit more of the phrasing and feel on my side.
I appreciate your suggestions... I ain't really got a lot of speed, at least not with accuracy, but I'll try to think more about your suggestions in the next jam track :) Glad you liked my sound, I'm quite pleased with the results myself, and probably goes to show that I'm more of an engineer and sound designer than I am a performer, on keys at least :) I have my mate Rob to do that.
Thanks again for taking the trouble to comment on everyone, it's great to hear feedback about our playing :)

Lyngs: Thanks for the explanation ! , I am very pleased with it. It would be great to contact you somehow, your tips could be very useful :)
Spacehog: If you don't have that technique (to add speed), you could work those mod interactions (dorian is a nice start) :) , they add flavor to the jam.
Thanks to you both for apreciating my review :D

Hey Enigma? Would you like to share the amazing distorted lead guitar patch that you used on your entry to the jamtrack? 8)
Enigma™

Yes and no. He he
The problem is that I used external effects, so posting the patch would be pointless, however if you STILL want it, I'll put it out there. :)

Damn... I had a really, really hard time casting my vote... there are so many fantastic entries... 8)
BTW - I'm back from Rome again! :D And it was an outstanding trip - I'll return to Rome sometime, that's for sure!
It would be great to contact you somehow, your tips could be very useful :)
Anytime - send me a mail on ulrik_lyngs@hotmail.com if you like, and we can discuss some jazz theory... 8)

so what happens in case of a tie?

NM. Answered my own question:
There's a tie for 2/3 so all 4 entries go to JR :)
Guys, if you can e-mail me a link to a Hi-Fi version, I'll send them off to JR for listening and final judging.
Congrats to the top winners!
Unfortunatly, Scrap wasn't able to finish this competition, so he said *I* would be taking it over for the duration.
This thread will be closed, and a new one made as soon as we get the high res versions for downloading purposes :)
