Hi all!

I use a 8MB General MIDI .sf2 file and I didn't find a bigger one. Even though I have got the problem that I cannot use each of the 128 instruments, only one of each category. When I work in Cubase SX, I can choose between a number of banks and a number of programs. Changing the bank does also chage the instrument, but all programs in one bank sound exactly the same.
Is there a possibility to get 128 different MIDI isntruments?

Thanks for your replies in advance!

There exist bigger GM banks, but it's really hard to find them (maybe using a p2p app makes things a lot easier).
As for the instrument change: you have to change the PORT, not the Bank/Programs.

ehr... i've found over 4GB of free sf2 on thesoundsite.net.. even BIGGEST GM Banks i've ever seen.

Majesty.. i've not understood your problem. btw, sometimes you need to change not only bank/preset number, but also change method. There are three ways, if I remember well: Normal, MSB and LSB. Try to switch between'em. Also... call me on ICQ monday in the first evening.

see ya

p.s.:
Maj, I'll go to Munchen soon for my job matters :)

Munich is too far away from here - sorry ;) (4 hours by car)
I have only very short time on Monday, but what's evening where you are? I think there's a one hour difference...

There must be something in the "MIDI Devices"/"MIDI Settings" of the app you're using. Just dig through the options, I think you'll be able to find it.
Moreover the ports I referred to are the global Windows MIDI settings, and they're also present in the section I wrote just above. You to change the port IN THE APP, not in the global Windows settings.

Axiom Bass: What's the correct URL of the soundsite? www.thesoundsite.net doesn't work and www.soundsite.net is something else :)
