Does anyone own this synth or
worked with it?

How does it stack up to, let's say
a Moog?

The Evolver is an incredible synth. I'm not sure how it compares to a Moog in particular, but it can get some sweet sounding timbres because of its real analog oscillators and resonant filter. It can sound very large too, due to its unusual design, in which two analog oscillators are paired with two digital oscillators with a number of waveforms which can be swept thru like a Waldorf wavetable. Four oscillators will give you as much "size" as you want. But wait there's more, as it has a very flexible architecture somewhat like a patchable synthesizer for some very complex, evolving textures, and it has a nice control panel that gives you every function within a button press or two. This flexibility gives you the ability to make patches that range from mellow and traditional to outer space or beyond distorted shread! Go to the website and check out some mp3s, you'll hear some amazing stuff.

And be aware that there's a four voice rack version coming out, perhaps at the Winter NAMM show. You can get it and a tabletop Evolver to use as a programmer, and have a sweet sounding five voice real analog/digital hybrid synth with some serious horsepower.
