Hi,
I'm looking for a good book that I could learn from on my own.
I'd like it featuring a lot of complete songs with a CD, and to have a few informations about chords, inversions and rythm.
I'd like to learn how to read music in fact.
any advice?

kevofan: Your last sentece was completely correct! Nobody should start learning to play the piano with a JR book!
I'm not familiar with books that are sold on the whole world, I think you should simply go to a store that offers such books, go through the beginner section and buy the one you like most. :)

Don't waste your money on buying books when there are shit load of Infos available in the Net
I myself learned to Read music from some e-books i downloaded from the net
i think the guy who wrote the lesson was Gilbert DeBendetti (not sure of the spelling)
i think he's a music professor in Pittsburg University
this is the website www.pitt.edu/~deben
and i think Wizrdry is also pretty cool
but i think you will be required to read a lotta music
bye
