A nice "hello" to everyone who reads this! :)
I'd like to play the new Need For Speed Underground 2 game which will be released in about one week. - But not with a low quality, you know?
I currently have a GeForce MX400 with 64MB. With this one, I could not even play NFSU1 with the highest quality.
Which graphics card should I buy in your opinion if I don't want to pay much more than 200$?
Thanks for all your posts in advance!

+1 for newegg.com They have great prices on hardware.
G force based on Titanium GPU like TI 4600 can do the job i got one by 700$
and you can got a sheaper Gcard best quality/price like gforce fx 5700 by nearly 150$

I've heard that GeForce is momentarily no more "leading" the graphic section and that e.g. Radeon cards would be better. You do not share this opinion? (I've just heard this, it's not my opinion...)

Yep, ATI has got the best stuff out there right now. The NVidia monopoly days are over. If you want the beast of all beasts, get the Radeon 9800:
http://www.ati.com/products/radeon9800/radeon9800pro/index.html
But if your budget is even hotter, get the Radeon X800:
http://www.ati.com/products/radeonx800/index.html
Whatever you get, make it have AT LEAST 128 Mb of RAM. I'm stuck with a GeForce 4 MX at the moment and I can't run Doom 3 at it's most...
By the way... HALF LIFE 2 COMING UP!!!!

Man, you've got two options as far as I'm concerned. For Nvidia, you'd want to go with a FX 5900 and if you're an ATI person, definitely can't go wrong with the Radeon 9800 Pro. I personally would say the 9800 Pro from newegg.com. My suggestion as well for manufacturers would be eVGA for Nvidia cards and Sapphire for ATI cards. Hope I helped.

Yes, thanks guys!
I've asked some other people and a couple of friends of mine who have a better knowledge than me and I think that I'll get a 128MB MSI Radeon RX9800PRO-TD128 Retail
It fits my needs and it costs me 180€ (about 190 U.S. $).
Thanks again!

dudes radeon is no more on the top.
Nvidia and Radeon are both the same.
radeon is better in Unreal tournament 2004 and Nvidia better in Doom 3.
you cant really say which ones better.
but radeon 9800 is not the best and nvidia fx 5900 not too.
the best now are:
The Radeon X800 XT 256 MB
and Nvidia Geforce 6 series Geforce 6800 Ultra 256 mb
THAT are the beast of todays graphic cards
ofcourse it's more expensive but that's the new generation
the radeon 9800 is ofcourse a very good card you cant go wrong with it :)
just my 2 cents

I personally would pay a little more than $200 to get myself a graphics card that'd last - I own the GeForce 6800GT, which is one of the most powerful cards on the market, and it'll be running games at full-spec for several years yet, provided the rest of your comp can back it up.

yeah it's after the geforce 6800 ultra and radeon X800 XT the best but...
it's more than "a little more than $200" cause here in holland it's around 410 euro
but you are right it will run your games for a couple of years.

Ah, I live in England, so i'm not too sure what the cost is for you - i think i paid about 200 pounds, so that's......THREE HUNDRED AND SEVENTY DOLLARS!?!?!
ok nevermind me, then

UPDATE!!!
In a couple of weeks (before Christmas), the new GeForce chip will be released!
The GeForce 6600GT will cost around 200€ and will be much faster than the ATI 9800. No comparable product is released so far.
I think it's gonna kick ass, I'll buy that one for sure now!

Cool - Good Choice. GeForce are much better at OpenGL than ATi are, so all your games will be very purty.

Hmmmm, ok then. Nvidia seems to be back in the game then? I'll see how good they work. I was intereste in a new grafix card too. The radeon x 800 pro seemed the coolest but the reviews on the geforce are so good!!

Ibanez: I don't want the GeForce cards that are on the market right now, because I think that the ATIs are still better... then I heard about the new GF chip! ;)
