Yeah yeah... already time to buy some gifts for christmas before all my money is gone in party. So I was wondering if you guys have good suggestions of what is In, Rad, Cool, In (did I mention this one?) this year to offer to someone.
I have another question. I have a niece, she's 6 years old and I thought about buying her a little keyboard. Her parent aren't into music at all, so I thought Ill give her the chance to begin her discovery of this wonderful world. Any idea of a low price keyboard (around 100 CD dollars) that could be nice to start with for a girl of this age? Anybody have good/bad experiences about giving a young girl a musical instrument?
I hope to hear from you people!
Thank you

A cool gift is a portable media station or something like that. it lets u play multimedia files to your tv from yourr computer without burning disks.

I think a keyboard would be great! I intend to start my kids on piano early, when they're old enough. Well, and when I have kids.
But case in point, perhaps a cheap Casio or Yamaha would work? I still use a Casio as my primary controller, trusty old WK-1800 never does wrong!

A Casio Wk-3500 is a very nice board! I played it at the Musik Messe, at Musik Produktiv.

The casio wk-3500 sounds nice, but I just can't afford it. I can't put more than 150 $ CD. Anyway she's only 6 years old so I think she could start with something cheaper, and her parents are full of cash, so if they see that she likes it, they could buy her a better board.
Any other suggestions for cool christmas gifts in general or for a nice toy (musical of preference) for a young girl?

For that age, I worked at Radio Shack and we had a small keyboard that had light up keys to help you learn songs. It was only like $50 US.

:) yeah... the wk3500 is the board I'm using at the moment until my X8 gets here...
hmm... I really liked your keyboard idea... if shes only 6, why don't you start her out on something small... yamaha and casio make some nice small boards (21 key, 61 key, etc...) that are around your budget.
have you considered the Casio CTK-481? In saying CD do you mean Canadian Dollars? (sorry, I can't check your profile atm lol I'm in a rush) because the CTK-481 is only about $85 USD... $100 or so CAD... and its a nice 61key model for beginners

Thanks people for your replies.
I saw a cool board also this weekend at my Keyboard Shop. It's the Yamaha PSR-175. I think Im going to go with this one. It's not expensive (around 100 dollars CD), have some training exercices include, sustain pedal / midi support, some great voices (over 100!) and you can see the notes you play (not the name, but their position on that thing that I can't name in English, where there is the meter, the key, etc.). So I think it could be a god starting point!
What do you think?
