www.motifator.com is a good source of information for your new love. Im still a noob at my Motif ES 8, but If you have questions, I could try to answer them! I think Over The Edge is the power Motif User around here. Thats all I can say for now. You could also use the search feature in the forum with the keyword "Motif" to find stuff about this board.
Good luck and long live with your Motif ES!

how can it be the greatest thing ever if you can't work anything in it?
seriously though.. I've got a Motif 6 and have figured most everything out with it. The only part that I'm not the best at is patch programming, but that will come with time. I know how to do stuff, just tough coming up with good combinations.
So what are you looking for, Sampler, sequencer, performance settings?

motifator.com is a good place to start, and if you can get your hands on the instructional DVD, that will help you so much. You see everything done in front of you, and for me, that helped me so much then reading out of the manual which usually does nothing for me. I need to see it done =)

yes.... as mentioned, the instructional dvd is really helpful. That's how I learned how to use the sequencer. I believe there's a step by step to use the pattern sequencer on motifator.com. I do all my sequences in the pattern sequencer and just chain them together to build songs. I'm too sloppy and forgetful to record with the song sequencer :o
