Hey
I recently got the new G3 C.D
and there's this totally awesome keyboardist who plays with Malmsteen
i'm not really sure who this guys is

so if any of you guys have heard of him
Let me Know

I don't even know his name

Anyways......
if you're planning to buy the DVD i'd suggest don't waste your money
the only thing worth watching is the Second C.D with Malmsteen
Satch and Vai gave thier worst Performance ever

Could be Joakim Svalberg who's the current keyboardist in his band and since 2002. He's a great keyboardist (I suppose you have to be for Yngwie's band)...

There should be credits at the end of the G3 DVD so check that to make sure.

is that G3 CD the same as the latest G3 DVD??? cuz if so, steve vai puts on an AMAZING performance, so i don't know what you're talking about. the thing on that when he uses the triple neck guitar is outrageously cool!

hopefully you mean a diff. performance...

Yeah the thriple neck ws good but
in the last jam --- vai's and satch's leads were pretty weak

i think vai was just playing the rhythm in the last jam (except in Little wing)

and i don't know About the DVD but satch's tone could hardly be heard
in the V.C.D

To : Axe2Grind
In the credit there's just all these three guys chatting nothing more

I actually thought Malmsteen was awful on that DVD/VCD/whatever. Vai was awesome, and Satch put on a decent show, albeit not a particularly inspired one... and the jam section at the end lacked the variety of the first G3 show. I was impressed with Malmsteen's voice, but not with his playing (and that spinning the guitar round your neck has gotta hurt!)

YM's G3 keyboardist has one of the best lead tones I've ever heard. It's smooth, yet powerful, and has a dynamic timbre that doesn't bore your ears.

Mmm...I gotta disagree on that one. It is a really nice lead, but it sounds a bit too airy to my ear...at least for that type of music.

I'll have to agree with Liquid Shadow
his playing was pretty impressive but his sound was a little weak

I think Satriani and vai both were playing with the keyboardist amp LOL :D
