JV-1080 programming add. tone up to a 3rd

Hey folks,

Jens Johansson plays a unisio solo on synthesizer but he still plays it with one hand. The second tone (that makes it a unision) is transposed up a third of whatever he plays.
Anybody knows how I can program this with the JV-1080?

Whew - are you sure that Jens programs that with his JV only? Because I think it's impossible!

Each JV is allocated 4 tones with their own settings, among
them dynamics and tuning. Just go to the tone edit page
and scroll through each of the four parameters to the interval
of your choice.

But if you still want it to be a monophonic sound in a way, it gets difficult.
It's like trying to have 2 tones in one. You know, where you still can only hear/play one note at a time, but you still hear the 2 different notes in harmony. And in my JV-1010 (I can basically only edit patches with a PC-editor, ChangeIt is what I use) I can only choose a patch to be either mono, or poly. So there isn't really a middle way for a 2-tone sound.

I don't know how this mono-poly stuff really works, so I'm prolly full of shit right now - just ignore me :lol:

you can hear that a tone is panned to left and one to right..maybe you are referring to Kiss of judas..
Try to set right for the main and left for the transposed one.!!

LOL. :D Just do what Frank said. It works.

Another way to get the same effect outside the synth is to use a harmonizer. With some of them you can set a scale or mode and they will intelligently choose between a major third and a minor third. Not having heard the song, I'm not sure if this feature would be required. Certainly you can do fixed intervals in the Rolands with no problem.
