hey, i was messing around with cakewalk the other day, and i wanted to try my hand at some production, so my girlfriend (who sings) and i did a guitar/vocal version of Cindi Lauper's "Time After Time."

I did a lot of overdubs on this one with both acoustic and electric guitar...I would've added keys, but my keyboard is setup at band rehearsal. oh well...

but I think I did a pretty good job producing the vocals at least...lemme know what you think!

Sounds good, just too much doubling of the vocals...sounds good tho.

Not what I would have done with it, but overall its nice.

I definitely would have relaxed the tempo just a bit. It sounds kind of rushed.

I agree that there's too much doubling of the vocals.. but apart from that i really like it. Nice production and general sound really.

Maybe change the vocals slightly and possibly slow it down a touch and that would be exactly how i would have done it.

Nice approach :)

interesting comments! thanks!

hmm...yeah, perhaps i did get a little carried away with the doubling...but it seemed like it worked on this song...maybe too much on the verses?

as for the tempo...i guess it just felt right when i was doing it, but i can see where it feels a bit rushed. oh well

maybe i'll make another 80's classic soon!

keep listening
