ok, so I went on a little shopping spree in the last few weeks. Things are starting to pick up in the insustrial band I play keyboards in. Since I've never played keyboards (exclusively, I've done double duty with drums lots of times) live, I wanted to build up a rig that I could run all my boards thru, and be able to mix down other instruments if needed. And if you've seen my drumkit, you know I never like to go small and sane :p

All the keys have been there... The new stuff is in the rack. The mixer (behrenger UB2442), MS2000BR, and a Midisport 8x8. I'm also going to be mounting a USB hub and a little USB sound system, so I can plug my laptop into it to run some other stuff (some sequences, sounds, etc).

I'm still working on getting all of the midi routing stuff taken care of. I'm building templates where I can cycle thru and control any synth from any board. I'm still working on trying to get the MS2000 to accept external arpeggiator tempos, though. I'm also planning on picking up a wah pedal and a distortion stomp box to run the Moog and the vocals thru as effect loops. Right now, I've got it set up where I can route any sound I want thru the Vocoder of the MS2000 or the sampler of the Motif. The Moog also has a vocoder, but I'm not using that at the moment.

As far as stands go, I'm thinking about trying to build a platform over the Motif to velcro the laptop and whatever else I end up having up there. I've also got a headset mic that I'll probably end up using instead of the one on the stand.

Here's something that I was just screwing around with tonite. It's nothing exciting, more ambient stuff than anything. More exploring sounds than any real form. The real raspy sounding bass synth is the moog, with the noise knob turned up a bit and a little bit of plate reverb from the board. At about 5:10, I was playing with the cutoff knob on the Moog, doing a bunch of nasty sweeps and stuff...

Were you the one who posted the pic up on DT.net?
