How do you know when you're battery has run out? Is it that the iPod doesn't hold a charge for very long anymore????

I don't own one but I bet you will find an easy answer at an ipod forum.
Try it its easy! Type www.google.ca in the address bar, and then "ipod forum". Oh I forgot, you must press enter or click the search button for the search to begin.

A nice alternative is Dell's DJ. I've had one for quite a while now, and I really love it. Nice long battery life, 20 gigs storage, great sound.

I'm having a hard time understanding why all of these people strongly dislike iPod so much. If it's the whole battery deal (some iPod's will have thier battery cramp out on you after about 18 months) that's no big deal. I got mine from Best Buy and they had a warranty that covers you for 4 years (as opposed to Apple Care which only covers you for 3 years and costs you $100) that covers the battery and so much more for only $40. You can't beat that. iPod works well with all computers, not just Mac. It's well organized and the browsing system is very efficient and fast (I love the wheel). Battery power is now up to 12 hours (15 with iPod photo if you aren't doing a slide show) which is my only problem with it at the moment. I unfortunately bought my iPod a few short months before the newest generation of it came out so my batery only lasts 8 hours but that's still plenty of time. You don't need a rediculous amount of hours on it unless you actually plan to listen to it for 20 straight hours (which I doubt).
iPod really is an amazing player and so much more. Feel free to correct me if any of the facts above are wrong but I'm pretty sure they're dead on.

Hi guys, I'm a proud IPOD owner. I've had one for 2 yrs, and I absolutely love it..
Well, battery issue....I think the battery runs great. I know I've played it for 5 hrs straight, and I'm still left with a third of the battery.
I have to agree with . TheVillageMidiot on this one...I got an older generation (i think i have the same as TVM) and it's amazing...
However, I got the apple care warranty for 40 bucks, covering everything
(i already exchanged it once). excellent service, excellent shipping time, i mean, what else can you ask from a company...customer service representatives were even nice.
I'd still go with the Ipod, and I'm thinking of buying a higher capaacity Ipod and selling mine (i have the 15gb model)
The acquisition of my ProgPod (that's my Ipod's name) is the best purchase i've ever made. I just carry it wherever I go.

I must admit I'm one of those who don't really like iPods... I just don't see the use.
I prefer to showcase my much-loved Dream Theater CD collection than listen to em on any mp3 player...
This is what I'd do - Save the $600AUD and buy a new amp.
