Hi there,
I belive this is two a 2in1-question.
I'm having this Yamaha S08 keyboard and I'm having some problems when I'm changing sounds.
1) When I'm changing to another sound the sound just quits, while I'm playing. Is there anywhere you can fix this?
2) If I'm playing meanwhile I'm changing sound, there's a little delay before there's any sound while I'm playing. A bit disturbing. Any ideas?
Hope you guys have some solutions here!

It's just a normal patch change delay, it happens to every board except K2x00s. It's part of the software, you can't do anything about that. Maybe in Fantom, Motif and most recent Triton models there is no delay when changing sounds. As far as I know, anyway, there is a (more or less) delay in every single board which is not Kurzweil. In fact, that's one of the best features in Kurzweil products.
To sum up, there's nothing you can do about that, as long as what I said is true.

I'm having the exact same issue with the exact same keyboard...has anyone found a solution to this yet, or is it just something I'll have to deal with?

Yes, true. I use a pretty low end portatone from Yamaha which has some of the worst patch change delay i've seen. There's not much you can do about it, though.
I think most high-end synths will compensate, though. The S80 and 90 will be better, probably, since they are the more expensive ones.
I was playing a very expensive roland workstation today, and it had very little patch change delay. Just a shame it sounded as crap as it did...

Same problem with Karma and Triton (in reality the delay is very short in Korg's last models...but it is still here)
Strangely when i use my old cs1x as midi controller the delay is reduced...but only with some sounds.
