I'm not sure which synth to go with. They are both the same price, and both look good to me. So here aree some things im looking for-
good piano samples
leads
not so much percussion

the good piano sample is raelly important to me, as is having the ability to get a sweet lead, i dont need any drun stuff. what do you guys think?

oh yeah, and some good vintage samples.

Go for the S08, for me it has a better piano sound and it support yamaha's expansion board.

ive never played the so8, but if you do go with alesis, get the 8.1... it is the same board as the 8.2 only cheaper and with an additional expansion slot, the only down side is that it is discontinued so it wont be under warranty..

I like the Alesis keyboards, but the S08 is a better synthesizer with nice resonant filters, and has better pianos. It isn't expandable tho. The earlier S80 is.

I cant comment on these 2 individual boards but I've found that the Yamahas have better feel the the Alesis boards I've tried.

There are some software editors for the Kurz, you may want to look in the Librarian Editor thread here. Editing tones and settings from a PC using a larger screen and GUI is much easier, give it a try.
