I have had a Korg SP-200 for nearly a year now, and it is brilliant, but has no pitch bend or modulator and only one pedal (which on does sutain) but the sounds are very good so it would be more useful as a stage piano on its own and not a lead instrument as such. So i have decided to head for a kurzweil SP-88: cheap yet with pitch bend (and of course it's Kurzweil!), assignable pedals and modulator:suiting my needs perfectly! but does anybody know wether it contains any of the good leads from the K2600 (etc.)? it would make it an even better purchase! Has anybody got any views they would care to share before my purchase? oh and the pitch bend "wheel" and modulator are ribbons on it aswell, would this be better or worse?
cheers

It's a good practice for piano stuff. Not much other than that. I love mine.

so no good for lead keyboard then... it's only as a starter, i can't afford much better at the moment

If you want to spend a little bit more, the PC-1x would be good I think, it will be my next purchase for sure. A few more payments on the SP-88x, and then it's time for a new toy!!

Have you thought about maybe heading over to www.kurzweilmusicsystems.com and seeing for yourself exactly what the SP series is/does?

Alesis Ion is a good lead board for cheap, also Kurz has an analogue coming out. I would reccomend looking at specifically analogue boards if you really want something that will give you great lead sounds. They're cheaper and perfect for that kinda stuff.

Or, you could get a Kurzweil Expressionmate for your current keyboard. It would give you a ribbon and some switches to play with. :)
