Is it possible? Since the in-ear monitor are quite expensive, I was thinking about getting some better small headphones and use them as in-ear monitors...What do you think?

It's quite do-able as long as you don't move around too much. It's all the fancy wireless and/or mixing stuff that costs the money with proper IEM systems. I use a set of these (http://www.maplin.co.uk/images/Full/32255i0.jpg) (fairly cheap) noise-reducing inner ear phones when I'm playing drums with bands, they are great for cutting down cymbal noise and enabling me to hear the bass and vocals, and are fairly discrete. And, obviously, because they're from Maplin, I get staff discount on them ;-)

I'm really not moving around a lot, since I'm a static keyboardist ;) Wow these are great looking earphones...Are they monitors or just earphones? How much did they cost?

They're just ordinary earphones... think I paid about £7 (€10) for them. There are some *very* nice Sony ones that are about 4 times the price, I forget the model, but these function perfectly well for me. Of course I've got the big Sennheiser £80 cans for in the studio, which are much better for critical listening. If you are struggling to find something similar where you are, I could probably get you a pair and send them over, you could just pay me with Paypal or something. Let me know.
