the best is soundblaster live! cards (cheap) with the free KX drivers (http://download.kxproject.lugosoft.com/downloads/kxdrv3537-full.exe).

I use them and get 2ms lag. Can't even notice it.

M-Audio Audiophile 2496 if you just want a basic 2-in 2-out card (the new Audiophile 192 looks good too, but I've not got one of those yet). Anything by M-Audio, RME or similar (I've heard very good reports about the E-MU 0404 and 1212). I wouldn't touch a Soundblaster card with a bargepole, their DAC's are very poor, plus they're very overpriced compared with other cards on the market, due to you having to pay for gimmicky software.

thank's guys for replay did you think 20ms low latency is enough for real time playing with vsti?

No, 20ms would be hard to work with. I have my latency set at 5ms (256 samples at 44.1kHz) and that's perfectly playable, but much beyond about 10ms and you're gonna feel it.

Depending on which machine, I have an Audiophile 2496 and 5 M-Audio Delta 1010LT's (1 rev.B and 4 rev.C). The four Rev.C 1010LT's are in my main music machine, my Audiophile and my rev.B cards are in the others...

I have an MAudio Audiophile 2496 and a Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS in my current desktop (the SoundBlaster came with the machine when I bought it, I only use it for the 5.1 surround sound setup I have, I use everything else recording wise and playback of things with the 2496).

The Audiophile gives me virtually no latency (under 10ms) and is quite pleasant and agreeable when playing with VST. I think in general you really need low latency if you're gonna use VST leads and piano softsynths because that's where you really notice everything...go for the 2496.
