I know this is most likely an ignorant question, but what are TRS cables? What does TRS stand for? My Mbox has two TRS inserts, but I'm not sure what exactly those are. To me, they look just like 1/4" Stereo patch cords. Something special about them? Can I use mono patch cords too?

It means Tip Ring Sleeve. Most likely, either a balanced or stereo cable. TS would be just Tip Sleeve. If you look at a TRS cable compared to a TS cable, you'll notice that the TRS cable has an extra little "ring" around it.

Wow, I can't believe I didn't figure that one out. Really was an idiotic question, but thanks for the help anyway Togakure.
