Things have been getting somewhat crazy here lately.
I've been finding myself locking a boatload of threads for various reasons. Everything from people spamming, to not following rules, etc...
Here's what's going to happen from now on.
Swearing hasn't been a problem here, no problem for the most part. You have to be over 13 to be ALLOWED to sign up for this forum anyway and if you're not, technically you clicked the wrong button and shouldn't be here ;)
Anyway:
There have been a few things that have been brought to my attention. For the most part things have been fine here, but there are a LOT of new forumers signing up for posting here - that's GREAT.
What's NOT so great is people not following the rules. I don't have time to physically post them all out right now, but I WILL do it later so people know.
What I'm putting into effect is a temporary banning system.
First major warning = Temporary 2 week ban
Second Major Warning = Temp. 4 week ban
A "If I have to tell you a third time" = Permanent ban.
I'm also going to set the record straight - There was an incident where I posted the IP address of some university goofball that was COMPLETELY posting shit here JUST to be an ass. I won't repeat what was said.
The whole story behind the scene was that we had his IP address, who his hoster was, where he was posting from, etc.. Had ALL of that information available before he was done posting.
The reason we did all that shit about "we're going to get him, call his school, etc.." was ONLY TO SCARE HIM.
I don't know how many of you know, but you can still read the forum when banned, just can't post.
Well, the idea was to scare him. The "indirectly" calling hackers to go at him with his IP was another scare tactic.
He was behind a dynamic IP hardware firewall *probably a university router*
They're "impossible" to hack in any case... I wasn't worried about anyone getting through but how was he to know that?
Also, I've been getting a lot of shit from people that are like "You closed my thread"
I've been closing a LOT of threads too.
There are reasons, and if you know them or not, that's fine. Most of the time I'll tell you why, but if you don't feel the reason is justified, then PM me and I'll tell you in full detail instead of being more of an ass and posting "Enigma, ur teh sux -- worzt mohd evar"

Anyway, point being - I have been here 4 forums ago, 5 years and over 2500 forumers have come and gone. I've seen just about everything, and I've also seen some of my best friends not post here anymore because of stupid shit that happens here.
I'm making sure it doesn't get out of hand.
Another thing I'm not going to go too much into detail about but like I said, if you have a problem, PM me. I'll tell you why I locked your thread that said: "OMG IS JR TEH BEST OR MORRE?!"
We've had this discussion a BILLION times before and 999 999 999 of them can be found using the SEARCH BUTTON.
Anyway, I am human - I did lock a few threads by error, and I also DID open them back up when I fucked up. I'm sorry, I'm human. I'm doing the best I can.
In the end - I'm sorry if I offend anyone, that's certainly NOT my intention. If you have a problem, PLEASE PM me. that's al I can say - PM PM PM - I'm just about 100% of the time going to answer, just maybe not right away.
One other thing before I finish this up:
This place is a cool, relaxed place to hang out. Sharing ideas, songs, etc.. is all welcome.
It's also not a right to be here. JR pays for this place out of his fucking pocket money. You don't have a RIGHT to be here or say whatever you want here. There's no "restriction of Freedom of Speech" here. This isn't a public place. You're MORE than welcome to be here, and if you're behaving, we want you here.
Hell, the more you contribute, the more fun it is.
However, when I get nasty e-mails saying that I locked a thread or deleted a post and that people are going to try and sue me or take me to court or BS like this about restricting their freedom of speech - you know what? If you don't like what's going on here, there's a little X in the top right corner of your screen.
If you click it, we all go away.
