I just received the new Theater of Dreams Mag. It's Brilliant!! Looks very nice. It's very thick and there is a Stream of Consciousness contest winner CD included!!!
Very Nice!!!
What is indeed very, very very SAD... that Theater of Dreams won't excist any longer when 2004 has ended. :-(
What most likely was the BEST fanclub in the world will close a chapter in Dream Theater History.
Thank you very much Dennis, Erik, Ilse, John and past time DTIFC staff members for all the joy jou gave us. It's been a pleasure and a privlidge to be a member of DTIFC!
Isn't there a way that some enthusiastic fans take over the job?? Any Dutch people over here that would like to work on that? Maybe we can be a helping hand in taking over the tourch! It'll be hard work, but worth it!

I didn't receive it yet :(
I hope the Italian guys are going to continue the DTIFT...or at least another fanclub. Their fanzines look great but the contact between DTIFC and fans concerning the meeting of the band (backstage, parties...) really sucks. Sometimes it seems they do the fanclub only for their own...

The fanclubs are not there to arrange backstage passes and meet&greets. Parties are up the local factions of the fanclub, and both the french, the german and the italian has many times over had official fan club meetings, and not to forget such concerts as the unplugged gig in 98 which was a dtifc member concert.
And taking over fanclubs will not be easy, you can't just go and say "i want to do it", it'll take a lot of time and energy to prove yourself worthy of the official banner.
None of the larger regional fanclubs wanted to take over for TOD, so there we are.

I don't wanna be rude, but when me and my friend won a contest of DTIFC and went to meet the band for the first time, we had VERY good contact with Roots back then and John van Empel. They really prepared and informed us well on things.
I too think they've always done a wonderful job. And I wanna thank Denis, Erik, Iris and John for all the effort, joy and other important duties to make me 'the dedicated DT fan' happy by serving me cool in depth interviews with the guys, making my first meet & greet with DT possible (see pic in my signature) and much, much more since I have also gotten to know them in person. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but personally I really wish them all the best for the future with their families, jobs etc... And we'll see each other again at the very next Dutch DT gig! Looking forward to that already!! ;D
And nope... Italian Dreamers will not be taking over... since the band and all fanclubs found no one was able to carry on the DTIFC torch as was stated so beautifully... Only time will tell if there will be a new DT international fanclub that Mike will baptise as being the official one..

oh my god... please keep in mind that the Italian Dreamers are "just" responsible for Italy, DTIFC for the whole world! and btw, there were M&G´s organized by TOD, as well as by us, Your Majesty or Italian Dreamers.
Sometimes it seems they do the fanclub only for their own...
This is just so inappropriate and wrong that i wont even comment it any more...
