:?: Hi all!
I would like to hear all your tips about this question:
I'm looking for a new keyboard to accompany my korg trinity and I would like to get something that have great organ/piano sounds (possibly with 88 weighted keys) but not too expensive.
I've thought of nord electro or something similar but I want to hear your opinions.
Thanks in advance!

Nord Electro wouldn't help you that much, at least not when it comes to piano sounds. Sorry if I quote Kurzweil again, but ME1 may be helpful to you, together with a decent masterkeyboard. An alternative would be Yamaha low budget stage pianos.

I second the ME-1. Really nice sounds. Got a great review recently in Keyboard.

The Roland VR-760 is also worth looking into as it has true drawbar simulation and COSM effects, as well as some supplementary sounds such as piano, Rhodes, Wurly, etc.

Thanks to everyone,
I'll consider what you suggested me. I would like to know what of these keyboards are the most diffused on the used.
I keep considering also the electro2 because it's a keyboard made only for pianos and organs (but it has 76 semi-w keys).

Although I don't usually like Rolands, I'd second the suggestion for the VR760 as it's got a good combination of what you need/want. The RD700 is also very good, the organs aren't quite so hot but the piano sounds are very good and it's quite versatile.
Another option would be to get any weighted controller (possibly with piano sounds - the Yamaha P80 would be a good choice) and partner it with an E-MU B-3 module. I have the same sounds in ROM in my synth and they're great. That'd give you the flexibility to control the organ sounds from either the Trinity or the P80, and also add an additional ROM as needed / wanted. But then, I'm a bit of an E-MU devotee so I was bound to suggest this :) It'd be a much cheaper option too :)
The Nord Electro is good for organs and for electric pianos, but I have not heard good reports about how good it is for acoustic pianos.

My recent trips to Guitar Center has changed my opinion on E-mu keyboards - they're actually quite nice and sleek. Very warm, earthy sounds and a great bang for your buck deal - probably on par with the QS series from Alesis, if not better, since there is such a wide selection of sounds to choose from.

The VR760 is a great buy but also more expensive. I find the off color keys simulating that worn look to be kinda funny.

:o hanks for your opinion, I have to say that's true the electro has only good e.piano and organ and I had forgotten this.
How much is the solution you proposed (with masterkeyb, E-MU, B3 sound etc. )? :?:

I can only go off UK prices, but here an E-MU B-3 module is £349, a Studiologic SL880 Pro 88-note weighted controller is about £379 (they make a cheaper model, the SL990, for £295). E-MU expansion ROMs start at about £99 and range up to about £199. All prices from GAK (www.gak.co.uk). So the controller plus the module would come to £728, which is about €1045, or $1180 at today's rate of exchange.

Isn't there an Elecrto II now? I like the waterfall keys on the Electro.
The Roland is VR760 an odd one, I haven't played it but it seems like its a nice board with the off color waterfall keys. It seems like Roland's answer to the Electro and from what I can tell they did a good job.
They took the VK organ which was really good IMO, and added EP and and accoustic piano samples from the FP and RD seriese stage pianos, 128 notes of polyphony, COSM effects, 2 SRX expansion slots.
You can add the SRX Ultimate Keys card which will contains the keys of the 60s and 70s / Vintage Synth / Bass and Drums and add the Complete Orchestra, World
This link has a sample of the SRX cards

Also look at the Yamaha S-90 and the Motif. Depending on your more specific needs (sequencing, sampling), these two keyboards are available in nice 88 weighted action (standard on the S-90, optional on the Motif) and have some really good pianos, EPs, organs, and a nice smattering of other tones as well.
