Hi friends anyone have a fantom s88?? i have a question about the usb port, cause in the specs i dont find any info,i need to learn if i can conect some hard drive, zip or cd burner in the port.
The info says that you can conect a mac or pc and the computer recognize the fantom as a hard drive but itīs posible to conect an external storage device for load and save the sample data???

Many thanks Friends

No you cannot connect external hard drives, CD drives, or Zip drives. You can only connect the FS to your PC. The Fantom does accept SmartMedia cards, however, and you can store samples on those.

But you also ask if "it's possible to connect an external storage device for loading and saving of sample data", and you can do exactly that when you hook up the FS to your PC. Like you said, the Fantom will show up as a drive in Windows Explorer, and you can drag and drop samples back and forth between your Fantom and your PC.

I've tried a Fantom S and I've to say that :

It's a great machine !!!!

The piano sounds are very nice....

Also the orchestral sounds are good !!!!

I think it has a great palette of sounds.....

However I'm still prefering Motif ES !!!!

I actually don't have one myself (yet!) but I'm planning to sell my 1st-generation Fantom 76-key and get a Fantom-S. I've played it quite a bit at the music store and I think it sounds fantastic :)

The drum and percussion sounds are also very punchy!

Just a FYI Smart Media cards max out at 128M, but on the other hand they're pretty cheap. I think a 128M SM card is something like $40 now.

The Symphonic Strings SRX card is pretty cool.
