There have been often talks about scratching sounds in your samples, but now I also have a problem with that. I want to play "In The End" (Linkin Park), so for the beginnig I play the piano part with one hand and the scratchings with the other. For that I use two samples form the song assigned to two keys.
The Problem: After some time of playing there are distortion tones in the samples, shen I start to play again it dissapears but then comes again after some seconds. I had a look at the voices while playing, but the distortions come before all voices are in use. What can I do??

EDIT: I recorded it, so you can hear what I'm talking about (about 1,5 Mb): http://7amplified.de/daniel/error.wav

Dude,

Check to see that when you record your samples
that you are not clipping.

They don't clip. Listen to the MP3, they sound okay at first. Onley when playing them together with other instruments they begin to sound strange.

Hey man, can you send me those scratching samples that you're using? I would like to do that song as well and never figured out how to get those sounds at the beginning. I never thought of just sampling it.

Think you could post up those samples for me to download in Kurzweil format? Do you have a Setup created for that song?

I'll try loading your samples and/or Setup or whatever else you have and playing it and seeing if it does the same thing. My guess is it won't, it sounds like your Sample RAM may be starting to fail.

Edit2: by the way, you do know that there is a soft pad sound playing along with the piano part, don't you? It plays D#, C#, and B. If you send me your samples, I'll create a Setup that will let you play the song all the way through, including all the sounds you'll need.

Togakurve: I also heard the pad-sound, but I 'm not shure how to play it while playing the sample (it's not a loop, because it goes through the whole song) and the piano-part. That's why I used the blowing wind to make it sound better :-)
I'll post it for you, I'll give you the link if it's online...

Edit: it's online now, get it under www.7amp.de/daniel/END.K25.
The file contains two samples, a keymap, a program, a setup and a studio. If you press switch 2 the wind-sound will start, the samples are on a#1 and d#2 - just to have the feeling of playing a correct chord over it :-)

I did some diags in the starting menu: When I checked the sampling unit I had the following error: Left/right clock failed to toggle [SL-11]
What does it mean??

Any thoughts? Should I bring it to the service?
