I have a quite high end pc lap top recently.
Any suggestions on which software to use?

Depends on what you need/want and which one suits you best...I recommend Cubase SX...

Either Sonar 3 or Cubase SX 2 would be fine... the likelihood is that the sound card built into your laptop won't be much good though so you might need to budget for either a USB/firewire sound card or a PCMCIA card.

For a labtop I would go with the M-box. It has protools which rocks. The sound quality is great. The only problem is that you need a very powerful computer. At least 512MB SDRam would work.
