Cary, BMG was fantastic. A lot of physical comedy and
satire but the instrumental playing by the blue guys and
their backup band was phenomenal. I'd like to go again.
It had its original run here in Chicago at the Briar Street
Theater and is STILL going strong.
Vlakey, yes Vai does play on one track.
The rest of the album is Zappa on a Synclavier II.

THere is a major movement happening in electronic music now. It's a good idea to become aware of what is happening in this area. All the music I listed is very well crafted- sonic- often spacey cool stuff.
You must have an open mind when you check it out.
Imagine if you will (after hearing some of it), that type of awareness of sound and color and applying that to Progressive Rock!
I started to do that with Rhythm of TIme and of course will move further into it as I explore and learn. Being aware of different styles and technology is what shapes our "progressive" world.
Don't get stuck in any particular genre. Keep your ears WIDE OPEN!!
Musically,
Jordan

But your genre is great to be stuck in. It made me who I am. (which I will show in the nearby future)

I could actually hear some more electronic influences in Jordan's style (even hints of it in ToT) recently which I think he has used to great effect. I'd be interested in hearing it taken further and blended with other styles the way Jordan usually works :)
