Here is a cool link that I've found during my bookmark clean-up:
http://www.music.swt.edu/tech/synthprogramming.html
Another link for German speaking people interested in synthesis:

Thanks man!!! By the way, to quote a phrase in the introduction:
If a tree falls in a forest and nobody is there to hear it, it still makes a sound!
:D :D

thx!! realy a great link!
Is this is the place to ask a few questions about it? I have few things I'm not sure about..
1. whats the difference between the amplitude envelope and the filter envelope? From what I understand, amplitude envelope is the preset of a voice\sound, and the filter envelope (or one kind of it?) is a kind of an automated modulation that changes the - attack, release, sustain, decay... - rates in response to velocity(and more?) changes in your playing.
I think I'm in the right direction but I'm almost sure I didn't covered the whole idea of these envelopes, and just gave one example of what they do and how they work.
please explain or confirm:) thx a lot.

there are both envelope curves that gives a shape to the sound. Amplitude Envelope controls how much amplitude is given to a sound.. a long attack, as example, gives a "fade in" effect.. think about Slow Strings.
Fiter Envelope controls the filter amount and output. You may control how much resonance a filter gives out to get a "poppy" sound like old-fashioned moogs.
However, depending of the synth engine you use, you can assign an envelope for anything you want. If you want to understand better, I suggest you to trying yourself maybe with a Modular Software Synth like SynthEdit (http://www.synthedit.com)

title says all. This will be a very useful intro to these seemingly complex process. One bite at a time has always been a guide for me when it gets complex. This site help to see those parts and the suggestions help make the bridge towards doing it.
Thanks for pointing at it

Actually everywhere other than the US Accordions are just another nifty instrument. My name is just in fun. Think of it as the first truly portable instrument. My accordion has been my first synth because it has so many ways to tweak it. There is a midi accordion and perhaps if I was a virtuoso I might consider it, but for me it is the raw natural reed sound and all the stops that make this instrument as enticing as my synth. when I want to accordionize with my keyboard, I plug in my cheapo keyboard and turn it sideways. Presto Midi accordion.
