MAN, I went to the Karamakanic show yesterday in "de kade" and it ROCKED!!!!
THe entire band was as solid as a rock. The songs are amazing. The key player Krister Jonzon was very impressive. I was totally impressed by his amazing playing!!

One of the best shows I went to.
There where very few people which was a bit dissapointing to the band I think. But it didn't influenced there performance.
TOo bad the show probably only costed them money. No profit with a small crowd like that. Such an amzing band deservses better.
So if there are people that are able to visit one of their following shows, You should!!! It;s more than worth your money..

It´s a great band in deed! I thought that Lale Larson were doing keys for this tour, says so on his website... funny.

Edit: Yes, Lale is doing the keys! Krister Jonsson is the guitar player!

I'd surely go if they travelled a little more downwards. I haven't checked the new album yet, but I loved "entering the spectra".
I always envy nothern europe people when I read the tour dates of these groups (flower kings, kaipa, etc)

I was hoping this would be a band of like 5 keyboardists that just play korg karmas

hmmm.. thnx Quili for the correction!! I copied the keyplayer's name from the flowerkings forum since I hadn't remembered his name after the show!! Sorry Lale Larson. This guy is really worth checking out. he rocks!!

Always on a quest exploring new music Mr. Rudess??

Karmakanic is a Jonas Reingold (Flower kings bassplayer) project. I believe he writes most of the music! The project consists of many talented musicians from sweden. It's a bit in the flower kings/kaipa vein, but a heavier at times a bit more fusion/jazz! It's doesn't sounds like flower kings at all.. But to give you an idea.. It's always hard to describe a band. It's dangerous to compare them with other bands..

More info can be found on www.reingoldmusic.com

I love those talented swedish musicians you speak about. They are a non-stop, always playing and collaborating between them for each one's solo album. Zoltan Csörsz must be one of the busiest drummers in Sweden, and I was amazed to see how many records has Roine Stolt been in, it's a huge list.

When I first heard Karmakanic I thought it was in Flower Kings vein, but with the music written by Reingold, who gives heavier influences to it. But I agree when you say it doesn't sound like FK, it's just that some guitar and key sounds reminded me to them (which is somehow normal if you see guests musicians are Stolt and Bodin).

I was hoping this would be a band of like 5 keyboardists that just play korg karmas

You had an idea there. It'd be cool somebody worked on it. \m/

There´s a nice song available for download on Jonas site.

Here is a link: http://www.reingoldmusic.com/mp3/wheel_of_life.mp3

You probably want to "save target..."

Lale is not playing keyboards on this record, I think he just jumped in for this tour...

@everlasting:

It's really unbelievable if you take any musician from the flower kings crew and take a listen at the music they're involved with. Man what a ride that is!!!

It's really impressive how much music they released! They are able to play so many styles!! Have you ever listened to Time Requiem!! It's not really my cup of tea, but if you think about Jonas and Zoltan being the rythm session... damn!!!

I don't know what it is.. But the scandanavian countries for some reason deliver loads and loads of great musicians! Just to think about what happens with my CD collection if I remove all the albums with which scandanavian musicians are involved!! That would be terrible!! Thnx for helping me to explain the sort of music Karmakanic creates!

Best thing to do is download the song as posted by Quili. Although it would be better to buy their albums. You will notice that it's very diverse., You haven't heard what it's all about if you only listen to Wheel of Life!

Sure, it's on my "things to buy" list. I liked a lot wheel of life, but of course I expect more great stuff from that cd.

what a fantastic band!!! I really love both albums. just incredible musicians and composers. goran edman on the vocals is one of my favourite rock singer. I think he would also be great in the flower kings.
 but I´m still happy with the addition of the "pain of salvation" singer daniel gildenlow. (upps, sorry I forgot this is not a flower kings forum)
