How can John Petrucci write the music of a piano-song??? I think there two answer to that :

1. JP may knows how to play the piano and wrote such a song. However, there are many things that shows that JR has done something for that song.

2. Maybe JP wrote the chords and the right-hand pattern and then JR complete it. But then why does it write music by JP ??

I don't know that's the truth. What do you think is happening???

I've been wondering the same thing since reading the booklet one day... Is Nick's explanation true..?

dunno if its true but its probably about right...with a few other details probably...

I doubt he notated anything for JR- probably just showed him the melody and basic chord changes on gtr (and had vocal melody worked out) then JR came up with something that fit. Songwriting credit doesn't always mean they came up with everything note for note, just the bulk of the structure and chords.
