View Full Version : Tech Question: Steady Repeated Chords

Hi all :D.
One of the reasons of my last depressed and depressive topic was, instead of the whole "I don't know if I wanna play anymore" thing (which is out of discussion because I AM a keyboardist, even if my technique is so-so...), the fact I feel technical limits caused probably by being untrained for such a long time (4 years I don't open a real book with the firm purpose of studying).
Focusing on technical issues, I noticed what I suck at mostly is repeated notes - due to a muscular issue, probably.
This is clear as soon as I try to keep a steady sequence of chords, trying to repeat them at a mid speed (quarters at 100).
I get suddenly my muscles tight, tired and can't hold for much - the velocity and value of the notes change uncontrolled clearly because I have no mastery over this skill.
This is one of the last issues I never got over with my ex-teacher. Relaxing the shoulder and forearm to play with just fingers or with a relaxed wrist.
I think crossing this limit is everything I need for the next month (I have to learn asap "Under A Glass Moon") - until I start some school or lesson (OC is most likely for the busy year I'm gonna be up to, then I'm gonna add some serious Music Academy lessons \m/).
Once I'm technically ready for lightspeed-fast chords, I can learn that nasty passage I can't play yet...but anybody knows HOW I can achieve that objective, gradually, slowly for sure (a month is pretty much a lot of time to practice over 4 bars :D), but totally?
Thank you,
Deceit.
