Scrap and other Korg workstation owners:
Do you guys have this expansion board or have heard it?
What are your impressions?

I never really considered the Future Loop board, since the Karma has a wealth of electronica-like presets already on it. In general, most ->PCM03 boards from Korg are pretty decent - the first two aren't all that hot, sample quality-wise. Personally, I'd be more interested in the Vintage Archives or Trance Attack board - there's a wealth of old sampled keyboards on both boards - Waldorfs, Moogs, Oberheims, Polysix, Fairlight, ARP, so on.

Scrap,
Do you also have the MOSS board? IIf you do, what do you think of it?had it on my old Trinty, though it was only monophonic. If you go to my site and listen to "Showdown" that lead is the MOSS in action.

Frank, I wish upon a star (or generous girlfriend, take your pick ;)) every night for a MOSS board. The new generation MOSS has 6 polyphony, I believe, and it's capable of analog modeling, FM synthesis, and physical modeling of acoustic and keyboard instruments, which includes drawbar emulation (max of 6 drawbars, I think). I haven't had the opportunity to try one out, though a friend of mine who gigs constantly with a TS88 swears by it, especially for killer lead sounds and analog synth action.
Rick, I think you've had far too much to drink. I see nothing unusual about my avatar at all. :?

Scrap,
I got a chance to hear this card recently. The drum loops have been
Reason-ized which means I can manipulate tempo without altering
pitch. They sound very realistic as if a real drummer were performing.
Very wide selection of styles from hip hop to rock to latin. It's all there.

I bought a Triton yesterday and it has the Future Loop Card. The problem is, I returned home at 2 PM, so I had no chance to try it. And now, I'm at work :(
So I'll post a little review when I've tried it.

Timo,
See if you can sequence something and add
a tempo change to see how these "Reasonized"
loops do not change in pitch. Pretty cool.

Sorry, now I was playing around with my new triton for about 5 hours, its a monster, I'm in love with it :D
But there's one problem, I don't know how to access those expansion boards.

That's cool, but doesn't the stock Triton drum loops do this as well? I know that the Karma drums do.

No,
These are actual performances and not indivdual
drum samples in an arpeggiation.

Now, I figured out, how it works:
You install it like an usual expansion board (you also lose a sound bank, as usual  ). It loads the programs and the combinations, but those are only the sampled and sliced beats, no arpeggios and nothing. Now, to play those beats, you go to the sequencer, where you have 18 songs, every song is a category (e.g. Hip Hop 1) where you can trigger a different beat from every key. You can also change the tempo, but every category has it's recommended tempo, wich is written behind the category name.
There are 18 categories with very natural beats (they are sampled, so this shoud be clear ;) ). What I noticed is, in some of the beats, you hear a bassline, it's really not loud but you can hear it.
But all in all, there are very nice beats (all 4/4). I'll sell the exp.board, because I don't use the triton in studio, I use it on stage with my band, so I don't really need those beats, wich are overwriting a bank.
I hope someone is understanding my crappy english ;)

I'de like to hear a review also , i have a karma keyboard and here in mexico that card costs about 170 bucks, I want to know if it's worth the money, I would like to use it to make my drum recordings, or do you recomend more a program like acid or fruity loops?

A Korg guy showed me the board during a store tour. If you are into loop contruction, it's definitely for you. The sounds are superb, but the downside is you should habe the Triton Studio or a Triton with HD because to construct loops, you need the Samples. There were also ROM construction kits, which sounded quite convincing.
