Hello Jordan & everyone,
I'm new on this board.
Basically I'm a rock guitar player, so I'm a total beginner into the world of sound synthesis!

I would like to know if anybody here manage to get a good Jens Johansson (modern) lead tone from a Korg Triton (Classic 61) or Roland JV-2080... because that's the gear I own

I've read and followed the tutorial down below but have trouble with the filter settings (stage 5):

...so I could'nt go any further.

If anybody have infos or help for me, that would be great! Thank you.

Hi there,

While this may or may not be completely useless to u, if you have a PC, usb to midi cable and $200 ish to spend on a piece of software, Space4Keys (an online keyboard patch database) has an excellent Jens Johannsen lead in it's LegacyCell lead sounds pack. You would first have to purchase LegacyCell for your PC in order to be able to run these soudns but it's definitely worth it because it's an excellent piece of software.

Alternatively, download the free sfz+ soundfont player from KVRAudio, and then scour the net for a soundfont called "FUCKING JENS" without quotes (not kidding that's what it's called), that's also pretty good too.

tl;dr: Basically I'm telling you how to get a decent jens johannson lead using a PC rig, and I don't really have any idea how to do it on the Triton lol. It's up to you whether you think it's worth it using a PC rig.

Oh thank you very much!
I will seriously consider this PC rig option to play at home.

anybody else about the Triton or the JV2080?
