Is the Roland vr-760 ( v-combo) a good choice???

I also immediately thought of the V-Combo when I read your first sentence. I haven't played it or any similiar synth, but you know you should play a keyboard before you buy it anyway. I've seen the V-Combo for the first time on Neal Morse's tour, I also have the Neal Morse DVD and I think that the V-Combo is a very good choice if you need a synth with good sounds of the most important sounds: synth, organ, piano, strings.

Clavia Electro II can do all of what you mentioned, minus Mellotron.

And from what I've heard, very well......

the nord electro II is very cool. I've tryed it out on several ocasions and was very impressed. It sonuds incredible! Only downside is that the keys feel a bit cheap, but you can't have everything...

I'd pick the V-Combo above pretty much any other 'board on the market at the moment... it will almost certainly be my next keyboard purchase.
