I just finished a song that´s been I´ve been working on recently. It started out as a groove to jam on but I built on it until it became more of an actual song.
First part is sort of laid back whereas the ending part is sort of an up tempo organ groove... (Must admit I´ve been very Purple influenced recently!)
Don´t be too hard on the guitar parts! Haven´t played in a little while. :)

That was completely brilliant....I really loved it, I'm a bit puzzled that you'd think anybody would be hard on your guitars parts, they were superb, you're both a great keyboardist & guitarist. I must say that the whole song was well structured and a joy to listen to, one of the best things I've heard here. Well done Quili... :D

Man, just one word: AMAZING! :D
Really great and freak! I loved the Hammond on the nearly ending, to be honest I loved everything :P
Really nice!
Like Axe2Grind said "you're both a great keyboardist & guitarist"!
Great work!
Now talking about the sound:
Really good drums also! The Hammond is also almost real!
What board did you use for producing those drums and that awesome Hammond? I think you used a B4... am I right? ( hehe I ask it to every show off song I hear :P... but your drums and hammond are just perfect! )
Again congratulations 8)

Thanks for the props! Yeah, it´s the beloved B4! Just a great plugin to work with. Also the Dx7 action is good for organ type playing... Drums are drumkit from hell samples used with the battery sampler. The first part I pretty much played by hand, apart from some fills that were added afterwards. Second part is all programmed. I find double bass drum playing kind of hard on the keyboard...
Rest of the sounds are a mix of FM7, Pro53, DX7, my Alesis and guitar running through the old Pod... Borrowed the Pod from the guitarist of my band to get this down... I might touch up on some minor things as they come up. The final solo I think was done way too late at night in a very tired state of mind... Could use some more energy...
This message, btw, is also written way too late at night. I just returned home from what we in Sweden call a "Kräftskiva". A chaotic type of festivity where huge amounts of crayfish, beer and aquavit are consumed. Needless to say I am in a pretty torn down state...

That was awesome...
Loved your song. It really kept my attention. Your a heck of a keyboardist/guitarist.
I would only complaint about the guitar sound. It could have sounded better. Try double tracking it (at least Rythm parts). The panning could use some work also. You should center leads a bit more instead of Key Lead Right and Guitar Lead left... Hard pan them only when they are in unison to create that cool effect.
I loved your key sounds...
I've been really into VSTs lately (pro53, fm7, synth1, so on...) . I just added you to my msn to talk, hope you don't mind.
Great job!

Nice soloing. What kind of board do you use?

I agree about the guitar sound :) ! I find it hard to get a really good sound out of the Pod... I´ve actually tried Amplitube for guitar also, but I encountered two problems. Firstly, it got very noisy at high gain settings. I think it was because of my unbalanced soundcard input. Secondly, recording audio with software monitoring in Logic generally seems to be a hassle...
I might do a new mix pretty soon, I´ll go easier on the panning then I guess. Maybe there is a way to improve the guitarsound as well...
Thanks for the suggestions!

He answered before you ask :P
BTW Enc3f4L0:
I'm brazilian too :D
My 2 older brothers live in Brasilia too! They work on 2 ministérios!
I'm planing to live in Brasilia in about 4 years ( when I finish the "faculdade" )!
It would be cool to make a DT cover with you and your brother
I'm keyboardist!
PS:Quili
Now I'm sure that your song is the best I heard here! :D
Some really fresh ideas there!

I have an uncle and a cousin that live in Brazil, I think the town is called Friburgo, just north of Rio de J. I haven´t gotten around to visiting them but it would be a lot of fun to go there someday... From what I hear musical life is really great there, lots of talented musicians and interesting musical styles...
Insane - why the weird title ;) no, but insane piece, great job man.

Quili...
The POD will do fine for these home mixes.
The key to these modelers is to lay off the gain a bit, specially when you double track. No need for too much bass also, they will step on bass and kick drums and you don't want that.
Lookin forward to hearing the next mix.
SpaceDyeMan...
Cool... I'd be glad to make a DT cover.
Truth is we need a keyboardist to start one... For drums, I could call César Zolhof from Khallice, we were talking about a DT Cover and he might accept the invitation.
I'll probly finish college in 4 years also... Maybe a bit more hehe,

Short update: I recently made a little web page to put up new songs, jams and stuff on. I think I have some more old jams lying around that will get uploaded as well. Some new songs, as well as a re-mix of this track with better guitars are in the works too... Link is in my signature...
P.s. Thanks Axe2Grind for signing my guestbook! :D Nice to see someome found the page!

Superb !!!
Great compositional skills here for sure. I especially like the "call and answer" style between the keys and guitar. Lots of interesting themes throughout. Pretty good drum sequencing too i might add !!!!
A pleasure to listen to from start to finish !!!

This link seems to work... Don´t really know what´s wrong with the original one...
Edit: Probably the blank spaces in the first link. Not sure why it worked earlier though!?
