Hey guys,
I'm in a moment of intense gear-shopping frenzy.
Just bought a K2000, now I have to buy two more things I need: a mixer and some fx.
As for the mixer, I don't know how many individual outputs I'll be using in the future, but I'm figuring out that a 12 channel will do...since I'm using 3 stereo keyboards, and I have to think about future improvements...I'm thinking of the UB1202 by Behringer.
I want to add warmth to some of my Triton Le leads sent through independent output 1/2, and the choices that come through my head are 2: a single tube preamp or a full multi-fx unit.
As for the single tube preamp, Mic 200 by Behringer would certainly do...it's a real tube, no digital stuff, just raw physical warm tube unpredictability...even if the rack version DOES rock a lot! I mean, parametric EQ as well...but I don't actually have any rack nor I have planned to carry one around.
Then, the multi fx unit I long for the most is for sure PodXT, since it has midi input (I can send patch changes), a lot of presets, an editor as well and USB port. But it's actually digital processing, and I want something analog...or at least analog-emulating to warm up the whole thing.
I thought also of the Pandora PX4, but it sounds like a waste of money - I'm not gonna use all the functions at all...
Another idea were the Ibanez tube overdrive pedal or the Yngwie Malmsteen DOD signature pedal...but I don't feel like I'm gonna waste my money in single pedals...
I don't have an enormous budget...
Anyway, any idea or suggestion is welcome!

Maybe you wanna see Behringer Rx 1602 for mixer, if you dont need separate
EQ (synth can do it?). It isn't so big and it's a rack.

Behringer RX1602 rocks! I use it, and I am very satiesfied.

My Dad uses Behringer MIC 100 with his Strat and his Triton, it gives the sound a lot of warmth!

If you'd like to hear how it sounds check out
www.angelo.com

Also visit his Monster Mix Studio and check out
his nice Behringer setup. He's got four of them.

For the money, I think they work great and are a
LOT less than Avalon or Universal Audio's preamps
which begin at about $2000.00

I should be receiving the Behringer MIC2200 Ultragain Pro later today... along with a pair of Beyer Opus 53 condenser mics, ready to record an acoustic album I've got on the cards (while my computer has 6 mic inputs, it does not include phantom power, and anyway I want the tube warmth). I have the cheap little MIC100, and I really like it, although to be honest I've used it more as a bass preamp than a mic preamp so far. Doesn't like being knocked when it's on though, cos of the tube. I'll let you know what I think of the Ultragain once I get a day off work to have a look at it!

Sorry for the late reply on this.
I also use the Behringer Rx 1602.
It's the best mixer I've owned and very affordable. I paid less than 100 for mine on ebay, brand new in the box.

My mixing console (new in box :D) is a Behringer UB1202. It's all I really need, I don't use any effect but the MIC200, and if I ever need effects, I route them directly on the keyboard they are for (e.g. if I ever buy a PodXT).
