View Full Version : Problem with using two switch pedals

So with my crazy new rotating setup, I am having just one problem. I am using cable splitters to use two pedals for each input (one sustain input and one program change input). The sustain pedals work fine, it's the program change pedals that are being a PITA - if I use only one pedal, it works fine, if I plug in both, only ONE works. What's the delio?

I don't know, how it was exactly, but as you're using FS5-Us, try to switch the polarity on both. Splitting works only with one polarity, for the other, you'd have to set them in series.

You basically have 4 wiring options here.
Series vs Parallel
and
Like polarity vs Opposite polarity
So try all 4 of those options and you should find a way that will work.
EDIT: Now that I think about it for a few more seconds, I'm pretty sure it will only work if you can set the polarity on the 2 switches to "normally closed". This way the circuit is "closed" all the time, except as you press one of the pedals. If you have them set at "normally open" and wired in series, even if you "close" one switch, the other is still open, so the overall state of the circuit doesn't change, which means you dont get your patch change.

I agree with Omega Monkey, that sounds right.

Switching the polarity worked. Thanks.
