Hey guys,
I've been messing with grooves and basslines and came up with this little jam with a solo lead improv over the top. Thought I'd post it, see if you guys like it, its a sort of jazzy laidback thing (it does drag on a bit though - sorry), and also I have'nt posted anything in a long while. :)

P.S. I've been really green with envy of everyone that went to the keyfest, I would have loved to have gone and met some of you guys...

Thanks alot Moondark, this clip was just a short groove which I came up with but I'm gonna start making stuff like this into structured songs, I just need the time to sit down and do it.. I've now sent you the bass and chord progression in a Midi file so hope this helps. Thanks again for listening....

This clip sounds very groovy in my ears!
I really like your playing especially the bends/vibratos, do you do the vibrato manually?
Your lead patch sounds very guitarish, a bit thin in my opinion, I prefer brassy leads in the classic seventies style :)

Hey Kirby,
Thanks man, I use a roland pitch stick and do the vibrato manually, its the only way if you want to get expressive solo's going. The lead sound is something I just created, a little departure from my normal lead sound but it still may need a litte tweaking and fattening up a bit. Thanks for listening dude... :)

I agree that manual vibrato is a lot more expressive than auto vibrato. I use the pitch wheel for the vibrato. Have you ever tried to modulate things like cutoff or resonance with the pitch bender? That can be very expressive too :)

Not really tried assigning cutoff or resonance to the modulation controller for lead sounds although I do use the modulation part of my stick when doing vibrato with a Saxaphone sound as I find that manual vibrato with a Sax sound does not work too well, using the mod controller makes it sound more natural.
nice jaming that sounds good 8)

\m/ This sh*t is groovy!
Nice soloing, man!
Two questions:
1. Which Roland were you using to make this sound?
2. Are you a guitarist too? (cause I think I remember you mentioned it somewhere earlier)

Hi Vlakey, Thanks man...
Two answers:
1. I hate to disappoint but I used Reason 2.5 to do the whole tune. The lead was a Malstrom patch I created, going into the scream4 distortion fx and reverb & delay. Not very exciting but it sounded o.k
2. Yep, I do play guitar, but I don't really consider myself one as I am not too good, better at keys. :D There are a couple of clips posted here of me playing guitar. a Scrap tribute clip, a Petrucci forum Jam, and a little tune I did on guitar also.
Thanks dude.
