Hello !

Please tell me if I have the fingering of this right so far. And also, I can't seem to find the rest of what the right fingers do. Last note can't be thumb, can it ? cause I need the thumb for the next note (if you know the song, you'll know that this measure is repeated a couple of times)

That's Tarkus by Emerson Lake and Palmer, by the way.

I think I'd do it the same as you, and the last three notes of the RH part would be 5-3-2 leading back to thumb on the Bb.

Thanks !

By the way, B, E and A are flats. I forgot to add that detail in the sheet music.

I'd do it a little differently personally:

1 2 4 1 4 2 1 4 2 1

On the left hand I'd switch the 3's to 2's but I don't have a really rational reason. Anyway, for the RH though, I'm more comfortable with the 4's instead of 5's, especially when going faster on the black keys.

Just my 2c, but that's how I think I would do in instinctively.

I was also wondering about the 2s and 3s ... as for your fingering, would you really do it like that ? Considering that that phrase is repeated several times... you'd have to jump from the last note to the first one with your thumb only...

Had a big post - found out just now that B E A were flat LOL

I did this:

1 2 5 1 5 2 1 5 3 1 for RH (Yes, I would go from the B to Bb with 1 thumb)

I would likely stick with the same LH though.

I can do the 1 1 pretty dang fast though, so I know it can be done. Maybe I should look at the song and figure out which part it is...

I'd do 2 3 5 2 5 3 2 5 3 1, I can also do the 1-1 thing on every key combination with the thumb an on most with the rest of the fingers quite fast, but I'm uncomfortable with my thumb on a black note when it's not quite stationary.
My index-pinky range is quite exact an octave what makes playing with the index finger instead of the thumb a bit easier on "stretchier" parts. I'm just used to doing it
LH: 5 3 2 4 1 2 4 2 3 5
5-5 on black-white, not a big deal and the 2 3 5 feels a bit more stationary(which is more comfortable to me)

Christopher, NICE ! Using 2 for the first note is perfect for me. Or else my last note sounds too staccato. Thanks
