Hey, I am looking for a decent program for my computer that I can use to transcribe music from my keyboard to the computer. Also a program that I can use to mix stuff from my keyboard into a song.... does anyone know programs that can do this for me, possibly one that does both that wont eat my budget away, and we are talking cheap lol...
Thanks

Cakewalk - There are very different versions, but basically they all do the same simple things you're requesting and can usually be had at a very reasonable price :)

well, what's the price range? The thing is that you're going to get a complete and master functionality with something like Sonar 3 but Cakewalk 9 would work too... The thing is that based on what you mentioned, Cakewalk 9 would work just fine... But for something closer to the real studio then Sonar 3 *also cakewalk* works too.
Price range... I think Cakewalk 9 you might be able to get for like.. 40-90$
Sonar 3 is MUCH more expensive... ;)

Yea, I can do 100 dollars, but 300 lol thats how much Sonar 3 would cost me ordering from musicians friend, yea, so I will probably stick with cakewalk... but how come Sonar 3 is so much more expensive?
hehe...sonar was free at my local Kazaa-mart ;)

Check out Music Print by Finale. My buddy got
his hands on a copy from Guitar Center for $39.95
Very functional for the price.

sorry dude - you can't post links to illegal things here. P2p, Kazaa, illegal bittorrents, FTP's, etc.. Isn't allowed here if it has illegal content.
It's not that illegal...I mean it's a tech message board on top of that...sorry

I am just looking for a program that can
1- Transcribe music from my keyboard to sheet music
2- I can use a microphone to record tracks like guitar, and keyboard
3- I can mix within the program
4- eventually burn it to a CD
lol so if you have any more ideas... just let me know, i have been looking at Cakewalk, but if anyone knows a better program, let me know

Either Cubase or Sonar will satisfy
all of your criteria.

Cubase SX will do. You could download it off www.suprnova.org for free but that really screws over software developers.
