Hello O' mighty experienced ones...
I hope it is possible to give me a hand on this.
I am trying to do the mix for a Nu Metal band's DEMO CD... the thing is I don't find the proper way to get the guitars and the drums the way they should be... they kinda come out like Iron Maden while I want them like nightwish or rhapsody...
Anyone pullleazz

maybe double the guitartracks and pan them opposite from eachother, then do a bass-boost and remove too-high frequency's.
Otherwise perhaps an width-expansion of the waveform helps a bit too.
My best guess...

A smaller kick will sound tighter, tune the heads properly could improve the sounds, if necessary add some mute to the toms to have shorter decay for a punchier tone.

Thanks guys...
I was trying to fiddle around and got some stuff over the net that came really helpful for bass drum treatment.
First apply the channel eq. Boost 3.13Khz by 6db and cut 800 hz by 6db. Second apply parametric eq two both BDs. With Parametric eq boost 6.2khz by 18db curve at 1.0- cut 358hz by 10-18db curve 1.0- boost70 to 90hz by 3-10db curve 1.0. Those are the eq areas the results may vary depending on your studio so play around. The key areas are 3khz and 6khz for the click sound and 70-90 hz for the bottom end. The midrange cuts enhance the overall clarity.

Once again Thanks a million
But any one has some other tricks under their sleeves please I do appreciate if you throw them in my face.
