Okay, some of you may have heard this one before:

You're in a 10' by 10' by 10' room of concrete. There are no windows, 1 stainless steel door in the room. It has no handles, however has a keyhole.

*there is enough air for you to breathe, there are very small vent holes in the room*

In the floor is a tube. This tube is 12" long, half in the ground and half out. It's not removable, and is also steel. It is sealed on the bottom end in the ground.

In this tube is a ping-pong ball with a key in it. The Key is also stainless steel as well. The key DOES operate the door and is currently the only way out.

Here are the items you have with you:
Small scissors:

A small Horseshoe Magnet, but it's too big to fit down the tube:

A metal Paperclip:

How do you get the key to get out of the room?

*And Nick - no stupid answers, how do you really get out?*

Hhhmmmm.... I don't know right away....

I imagine if I get the ball up 6 inches, I can them use the magnet to drag the ball the rest of the way.

Can I pee into the tube?

Let me think about thisone....

I think I could do it... Although it would require a lot of pee I could do enough to float it to the top. Or near enough that I could grab the ball with a paperclip or drag it with the magnet.

I would use the scissors to cut the key out of the ball.

That's actually the way man :) Pee into the tube.

I pity the poor foo that pees into the tube and tries to poke the ball with the scissors, pokes a hole in it so it sinks back to the bottom...

If you pee to get the ball closer, then use the magnet to get the ball, and then the scissors to cut the ball, what do you use the paper clip for? Is it just a distraction?

yup. Technically you don't even need anything there - just to pee into the hole. Get the ball out, step on it with your foot to break it, and out ya go. :)

I think that would be a lot of piss though...

I might be better trying to use the paperclip to pick the lock. Or the scissors to dig my way out...

true, but then again, when you're going to either be there forever and die or wait to get out... I think I'd be peeing all day lol. Spit doesn't hurt either... ;)

Even if it was in a ping pong ball, wouldn't the weight of the key cause it to sink if you peed in there...I'm all for picking the lock with the paperclip lol

easy solution:

try and pick the lock with the paper clip, but remember the door has no handle... it'd be tough to get the door open without the key, but you guys go ahead and pick that lock. just remember that you can pee into the tube when you have to go :)

*and the bouyancy of the pingpong ball is MORE Then enough to lift the key inside of it :)*

Since there's a lot of stainless steel in that room I bet it's standbuilders home you're talking about.

I'd think of some McGyver-films to build myself a mobile phone out of the paperclip and phone standbuilder to get me out there...
