The Dutch news site has an exclusive full album preview of the new Muse record:

Sounds pretty good!

I listened to a few tracks on the muse site and thought they were pretty crap to be honest. Got nothing on origin of symmetry.

I listened to the two songs that were available on Youtube. I love the whole lyrical theme he's got going, but those songs are really not what I wanted to hear from Muse, especially after Black Holes & Revelations.

I think it will be very well recieved though, reminds me a bit of Queen or something actually.

A friend of mine just asked me yesterday if I had already listened to it, because I'm a big Queen fan. I just don't understand why an established like Muse would go Queen style...

Well they only got some riffs of only 2 songs that are "kind of queen". The rest of the album is prety diverse as Muse usually do.

I think it's a brillant album, really surprising, but so well done and inspired that it's actually really great ! I love when a band change it's style, especially when they are as much inspired than before, it's just an evolution, and a good one in my opinion !

The Exo-Genesis 3 parts symphonie is really a masterpiece, don't let yourself fooled by the "candy pop singles" that was released before (that I personally find great anyway), Muse will always do that, just to punch you in the face with some real space rock songs on the album !

IMHO

Undisclosed Desires is the worst song Muse has ever produced, one of the worst songs I've heard in years too btw. It sounds like Kanye West, but in tune.

Exogenesis, United States of Eurasia (+Collateral Damage), I Belong to You, MK Ultra and Unnatural Selection rock hard though!

It's an album with mixed feelings and a tiny tad of disappointment.

I completely disagree with you RemcoG and think that Undisclosed Desires is a GREAT song.

Amazing chorus and involves the pop/hip-hop tinges of today's popular music and makes it good.

The symphony is just fantastic!

I bought it yesterday from Itunes and listend to it straight ahead.

Great album!! Exogenesis simphony, part 3 is simply brilliant IMO!

So, for you guys who have heard it.

Does it actually have Classical elements in it, like my friend said?
Or, is he just mistaking an orchestra for Classical music?

There's really some strong classical influences, but not REALLY classical. You can hear the influence, but there's no real classical music on the album (exept at the end of United States of Eurasia where Matt plays a little chopin piece on the piano).

I would say there are definitely some classical elements in it.

Listen to Exogenesis parts 2 & 3!

After listening to it through once I have decided it is not a bad album.

Undisclosed desires is pretty crap and the uprising is blatently ripped from deep purple but the rest of the album sounds really good.
I'll have to listen to it again though to really get in to it.
