the diploma "digital acoustic cartography" is an interactive experiment in mapping sonic events into a concrete visual language. source material for the visualizations are images (db and frequency-sequences) recorded by the "acoustic camera". the project has been awarded with iF communication design award and red dot design award 2005.

So the one you are viewing shows the frequencies and their intensities (on the axis) through time (move through time with the spacebar) of the event "changing gear".
Useless? Yes. Cool? YES, very cool!
