hi all!
guys, I only want to ask you such thing.... what synth(or sound module) in ~ 1000-1500 $ is the best decision to get... it needs good pianos, organs, strings, leads, pads....i have looked at some models such triton and motif...if choose of this two which is better?? yesterday i have tried triton classic and it dont express me so much..motif seems an interesting thing....so anyway, what do you think? will be so glad to here some opinions from u, guys)
I would buy a K2600R with sampling
In that price range forget the Tritons, you can find Kurzweil too, it has all you need at top level. It dont silences the sound between patch changing, has the best sequencer in that price range, you can use 64/128MB samples without sampling option too.
The possible kurzes: k2000, k2500/k2500r,k2600/k2600r, k2661.
But at the end you HAVE to check out the possible choices with your ear, thats the final step to make the best decision.
Try this with a Triton http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-MpI0zokIaM

Hmmm just saw your location.. anyway, if you donīt need sampling, Iīd suggest to save some cash and get the PC3 :)
but if you really want something for $1500 tops, yeah, just go with the 2500/600

I hate you guys over in the US, your prices are almost 1/2 of ours over here in Europe
If I could get a PC3X for this kind of money, I could have bought it right now, but with price being over 2000 EUR over here, I will have to work a couple of months more before being able to get it...Now I'm sad.

I have a motif rack es and it as powerfull samples and program in default library. while it is powerfull it is not as easy to program as a kurzweil. but i did great things with it. But if you really can look for the k2600r

Hmm...i always think that kurz is one of hadrest things to program with it's technology... i can buy a motif rack for 500 $ right now, but i still think about other variants...

I have also been made to believe that Kurz is something of a bugger to learn to program. And if the motif is even worse... then Yamaha suck at making interfaces, that's for sure.

Kurz is not that hard to program once you know the terms its really fast (k2xxx, pc3)
Motif is programmable but the interface really sucks, there are pc editor which helps tough but i never tried them. Even tough the interface is poor compared to others once you get used to it it's feasible. Eum... which Motif rack you got for 500$, if it is XS go for it now and dont hesitate, it is a great machine, if its ES this is the price it goes now.

i mean this motif rack( i think it is rack of motif 6, the first)...so i am not rush to buy it...
i think may be better to make some
more money and really get PC 3 or K2600....because i really want keyboard with 76 or 88 keys...and buying a rack maybe not the best choice..

I have the M3 Module and I can say that it's amazing. There's not a whole lot you can't do with the M3.

Well I own a Fantom X8. It's my second synth and I've found the user interface is layed out really well, easy to get to grips with. And when you're ready to dive into complex settings, it still isn't too daunting.
The sounds are brilliant. I've heard many people on here say that Korg's piano and string sounds aren't great but when I first played the Fantom in store, I was amazed by the quality of the strings.
Also in my opinion, I think the piano sound is far better than yamahas.
One downside to it is you don't have seemless patch switching. Although there is a way to do it using the Realtime Phrase Sequencing feature, but it's not something I've tried out yet.
There are dozens and dozens of instrument categories from pianos and strings, to orchestras and accordians. Plenty to choose from.
As for lead sculpting. It's not something I'm an expert in, but with my limited knowledge, I have managed to make a few awesome lead sounds.
Definately something to look into. There's also a single space rack unit, Fantom XR.
As for things like the M3, I can only really speak for videos I've seen of it on youtube. Seems like a really good piece of kit. When I've got cash and want an additional synth, M3 is probably one of the first I'll look into.

Thanks for information....but i think M3 is quite expensive for me...and if choose from Kurz and M3 i wish to choose Kurz:rolleyes:
and about Fantoms...i don't have tried it yet...but for me the main thing is not many many presets but their quality and possibility to change them in way i want...

Well I do find with my fantom, any difficulties I have is because of my knowledge and ability, rather than limitations of the instrument.
I would definately recommend trying one out though.

I don't know about the X, but what I find most irritating on the G is that it has just the waveform synthesis, which can be boring at times. Gief VA-ARX or something.
