Well, it's much better after 1 month, than 1 day after the warranty has expired.

In this particular case Roland will replace the screen even out of warranty, free of charge. Anyway, its just too soon to have problems with brand new gear, emotionally speaking :)

I was SO pissed off when I had that joystick problem. I was able to do a quick fix, but I´m still waiting for the original parts from Korg. ETA: September

That's not bad. Back when I had a broken key on my N5 (about 10 years ago), it took almost a year to get a new one. Luckily it was a C key that I could just move down to the bottom. Granted, this was at the time before you could buy a lot of parts online. I had to go through a local dealer for it.

Yep - Korg is pretty slow at repairs.
Took almost half a year to fix an encoder on Radias - 'they didn't had any encoders left' - I mean, WTF??? No encoders? Who do they think they are?

I bet you could have cured it with couple of drops of Deoxit - I had similar problem with Prophet 08, fixed the econder 100% - I recommend it, if you have glitchy encoders on your gear.

... so they gave me a new unit instead (lolz ) - should have taken the storecredit then!

Don't get me wrong, though - I hate Radias...

well i guess it depends on the support for your country, im out of a juno-G for bout' 1 month and a half, at least so the alesis is back on rotation (you just can't keep a good synth down).

if i had a broken Korg i would just go to the repair guy and buy the part from him, he usually keeps good stock on parts, problem solved.

with roland they had another broken Juno-G with the same issue and they Had not even placed the order for the screens.

BTW if you live in the Guatemela neiborhood, PC3X about US, 2300$ if things were well at work i'd buy one.

BROKEN SCREEN UPDATE

I'm still 1 keyboard Short

i've chequed the repair note date today and I took it to the dealer on july 31st , i've been inquiering and they've only told me that they already ordered the screen from japan,

well, im thinking of alternatives, im just waiting for the dealer to stock PC361 or PC361LE or even an AV-Synth, and im taking the box and all the stuff back to trade in and paying the diference, i know the store chain owner but i havent taken this up with him,

i bought the synth because i didn't own roland and the chain has been sponsoring one of my bands, and althou i im a loyal korg user, his chain dosen't carry korg so i thought thought it would be a nice gesture to buy one keyboard off him to promote his brands, and also get a good deal on a roland, i do get a pick of keyboards (kurz/roland) on gigs i preffer to use my own already programed keyboards.

So i have a HUGE gig on saturday (the biggest gig of the year for me) and im showing up with the triton, if the store owner asks, i will explain the situation and see what he has to say, but im using my own key.

at the end there's going to be a PC2X on stage and my triton either sideways or with the logo covered.

but now im oficially pissed about this

Got it today out of the repair shop

4 F$"KING MONTHS

And it woul've been longer if i didnt speak with the owner, because the japan-ordered screen is still mia, so i guess they took a screen out of another one and put it in, i hope it holds, if im still pissed by next year i'll sell it, and get a a PC361 or a PC361LE.

OHH.... BUT THERE'S MORE....

MY PATCHES & PERFORMANCES......... GONE

they've reseted the thing and i have no back up of them because there was/is no PC-CARD adapter anywhere to be found in my country, (i had to buy it off amazon) and anyway i couldnt backt it because i couldnt tell what i was doing with the broken screen.

I usually service my own gear, i've studied electronics and im comfortable changing parts off pc boards, but since i CAN'T get the part and it still was under warranty i took it back, and im pretty sure that you dont need to do a factory reset to change a f$"king screen.

The guy that fix it wasnt in the shop when i pick it up, but im calling tomorrow for an explination and see what kind of BS he comes up with, he can't do nothing about it now, but perhaps it wont happend to somebody else.

Anyway im sorry for the cursing and ill tone but i know that only you guys can understad how frustrating this was.

im thinking of sending a letter to roland.
