Two days ago me and my father checked out some really cool keyboards in central town (Gothenburg, Sweden).
At first I was looking for a Kurzweil PC2X, but I early realised that I wouldn't found one. But instead I saw the angel who've just landed. A Yamaha S90. But there's also one part that does matter in this case, and that is money. With a cost of 23000 SEK ($3014) you just had to have an alternative.
We went to another musicstore and found the littlesister to S90; S08. With a great sale on the S08 at only 10000 SEK ($1310) I think I've decided.
What are your thoughts about this? I have to add; I don't think I have $3000. ;)

Wow, that's some serious markup. Last winter, when I was still working in sales, we were selling S90s for $1,899. It's just a shame shipping costs are so expensive, you could probably find it cheaper in a nearby country (UK? France? Germany?) or even the US.. but who knows what the shipping costs would bring the total up to :P
As for the S08, it's not bad, but it was never all that impressive of a board to me either. It's a good middle-of-the-road keyboard, nothing great, but nothing bad. Some solid sounds, standard Yamaha interface. I prefer the Roland XP and RS boards to it and the smaller Yamaha S03 though, as well as the Alesis boards.

In my local music store here in Germany, they're selling their last S08s for 999.-€, which is a bit more than 1000 U.S. $.
Even though I don't know anything about Yamaha synths... I would propose that you try out other keyboards of other manufactures of the same price range, so that you can compare!!!

Well, the fact is that this was a huge sale from 17000 SEK ($2225). But I saw the Kurzweil K2600X at $2,499.95 and that difference does matter alot.
I'll check out your tips guys and I'll try to find what the shipping cost would be inclusive the keyboard cost.
Edit:
S08 - $1,199.95
S90 - $1,899.95
